LIFE Groups

Learning Groups

These groups gather to study and interact with each other on what they have learned. These could be Bible studies, book studies, topical studies, leadership training, new believers classes, traditional Christian education classes, etc.

Interest Groups

These groups allow the unique interests of people to be expressed. They could include sports, auto mechanics, computer training, baking, sewing, knitting, and more – if you can dream it, it can become a reality.

Fellowship Groups

These groups meet together to form relationships and encourage each other. These groups may be developed based upon geographic area, life situation, age group, etc.

Experience Groups

These groups allow individuals of common calling to gather together for ministry and outreach. They can include intercessory prayer, worship band, nursing home, visitation and more.

LIFE Signs

"I definitely think my group is a success. I am into a group that had already been established and they have welcomed me with open arms!" – Susan Reed

"LIFE Groups do not represent just 'another program at my church.' LIFE Groups are an essential component of the New Testament church. They provide a means to fulfill the command of Christ to 'love one another.' We can love one another only to the extent that we are involved with one another. Get involved!" — Pastor TJ LoVerde

"The regular meeting with brothers and sisters in Christ has been an important part of my spiritual growth and the fellowship is also fostering friendships that will continue in eternity." — Paul Baker

"Having the inspiring connection and dedication to Christ's teaching helps keep us attached 'to the vine'". — Anonymous

"...openness and sharing leads to encouragement and faith ...relationships are made stronger with each other and with God." — Rachel King

"I found new friends that helped strengthen my understanding and faith." — David Ross

"Life Groups are dangerous; they are risky. But don't get me wrong; being a member of a Life Group is worth the risk! Life Groups are the heart and soul of the church!" — Robyn LoVerde

IRON Men – Men’s Ministries

There's an old story about a lumberjack who was trying to fell as many trees as possible in a given amount of time. Failing at his task, he was asked when he had last sharpened his ax. He responded that he was so busy that he didn't have time to stop his work and sharpen the ax. Because he didn't keep his ax sharp, he ended up not being able to do the work that he was called to do.

Men, it's time to get sharp! I know that you are busy – every one of us is. However, no matter how busy you are, if you fail to sharpen your ax, you will also fail at every other area in your life.

In Proverbs 27:17 we read that "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." In order for us to stay sharp, we need each other! As we take the time to be with other men, we will sharpen each other.

This verse is the inspiration for our men's ministry here at WFA – IRON Men! It's our desire for every man in Delaware to come to Christ, to connect with brothers, and to commit to the cause.

Allow me, as your pastor, to encourage you to take the time to be a part of our new IRON Men ministry here at WFA! You will be blessed, encouraged and strengthened in your walk in the Lord!

Yours for HIM,
Pastor Tim Satryan

WFA Women of Purpose – Women’s Ministries

The Vision for the ladies of WFA is patterned after "The Prayer of Jabez" by Bruce Wilkinson

I Chronicles 4:9, 10 reads, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil."

Jabez 'name literally means "He causes pain." He carried that burden around for years. One day he decided enough was enough. He wanted to change his future. He called out to God and He answered his prayer.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed. . .!

To bless in the biblical sense means to ask for or impart supernatural favor. We are not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves. We want the unlimited goodness that only God has the power to give to us. My desire is for our ladies to become wholly immersed in what God is trying to do in us, through us, and around us for His glory. We want to change our future!

Oh, that You would enlarge my territory!

God is looking for people who want to do more. As we ask him to use us, He will bring more opportunities across our path. My desire is for God to enlarge our lives so that we can make a greater impact for Him. I want to see ladies stretched as they use their gifts and talents for the Lord.

Oh, that Your hand would be with me!

With that, we release God's power to accomplish His will in our lives and bring Him glory through all those seeming impossibilities. We can't do that in our own strength. "Hand of the Lord" is a biblical term for God's power and presence in the lives of His people. That's want I want us to experience in our lives; supernatural enthusiasm, boldness and power.

Oh, that You would keep me from evil!

We need to petition the Lord for supernatural help to protect us from Satan's proven ability to make us come in second. The more we become involved in service for Him, Satan attacks us and our families. We become too familiar with Satan's unwelcome bards – distraction, opposition, and oppression. My desire for the ladies is that they will experience victory over the Satan's attacks.

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success." — Henry Ford

The Lord has put us together and with His hand of direction I am looking forward to success, working together, with the great group of ladies here at WFA.

SuperKIDS Children's Ministries

Turing Kids into SuperKIDS

The Super Kids Network here at Wilmington First Assembly is honored to come along side parents to help build a foundation. A child starts developing their value system from a young age, and we hope to be a part of the growth. We start as young as Kindergarten and continue to feed and minister to your child until they are ready for Youth (6th Grade)! If you have children, Wilmington First Assembly is the place for them.
